COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -Red-shirt freshman Dominique Archie and Brandon Wallace each scored a career-high 20 points as South Carolina rallied from a 14-point first-half deficit to beat Lipscomb 75-68 on Sunday at the Colonial Center.

Archie, who had just seven points on 3-of-10 shooting in the first three games, also pulled down 10 rebounds, becoming the first Gamecock freshman to have a double-double since 2003. Archie, who hit eight of nine field goals, is the first South Carolina freshman to score 20 points since 2001.

Lipscomb (2-2), which hit 31 percent of its 3-pointers coming into the game, nailed 13 of 27 treys to try to give coach Scott Sanderson his 200th victory against his alma mater.

Sanderson is a 1984 South Carolina graduate and former player and his brother, Barry, is a Gamecock assistant. Their father, former Alabama coach Wimp Sanderson, was in the stands for the game.

Senior point guard Tre Kelley scored 16 points and became the 39th player in school history to score 1,000 points. True freshman Brandis Raley-Ross tied his career high with 17 points for the Gamecocks (3-1).

Lipscomb was led by Trey Williams, who hit seven of 13 3-pointers and scored a career-high 24 points. Brian Fisk added 16 points.

With the score tied at 55, the Gamecocks went on a 9-0 run behind Wallace, who hit his second 3-pointer and a pair of foul shots, to go up 64-55 with 2:12 left on Kelley’s two free throws.

Lipscomb never got closer than five after that as the Gamecocks hit nine of 10 foul shots down the stretch.

South Carolina scored the final nine points of the first half to rally from 14 points down to pull to 33-29 at halftime. Lipscomb hit seven of 15 3-pointers, including three in the first four minutes to bolt to an 11-2 lead that the Bisons stretched to 28-14 on Eddie Ards two foul shots with 6:41 left.

But the Gamecocks rallied. Archies follow with 1:42 – South Carolinas first second-chance points of the game – started a late run that included four foul shots and a 3-pointer by Raley-Ross.
