Both teams finished at six-over par in the second round of the Garnet and Black Intrasquad, played on Thursday, Sept. 29, at par-72 Spring Valley in Columbia. The Garnet team, eight-over through two rounds, maintains its lead on the Black squad, which is currently 14-over.

Redshirt freshman Patrick Cunning led the Garnet team by firing a two-under par 70. Freshmen Allen Koon, Mark Silvers and Baker Elmore all carded an even par 72. Redshirt sophomore David Kite shot 80. All five scores count to toward the team total of 366.

For the second straight round, freshman Florian Fritsch paced the Black team, shooting a two-under par 70 to match Cunning for the best round of the day. Senior Eirik Johansen and junior Robert Svensson both carded one-under par 71s. Sophomore Warren Thomas shot a 74 and sophomore Mark Anderson fired an 80.

Two rounds remain to be played in the Garnet vs. Black Intrasquad. Action continues Saturday, Oct. 1, at 8 a.m. at The University Club. The intra-squad challenge wraps up on Sunday, Oct. 2, with a 2 p.m. start at Woodcreek.
