Columbia, S.C. – The University of South Carolina men’s golf incoming freshman, Eirik Johansen, set a new course record in the second round of the European Team Championships on Thursday. Johansen blasted a 65 in day two of the 23rd Annual European Youth Team Championships to set the course record. His two-day total of 140 earned him a fifth place finish.

Johansen, who will represent the Gamecocks in the fall of 2002, is a three-time Norwegian junior champion, Johansen averaged 71.67 in 2001.
