Columbia, S.C. – University of South Carolina men’s golfer, Alex Hamilton, shot a four-round score of 279 (68-69-72-70) to claim second place at the 31st Annual Rice Planters Invitaitonal in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The Snee Farm Country Club played host to the four-day tournament. Erik Labitzke won the individual title after blasting 275.

Other Gamecock notables in the 2002 Rice Planters Invitational were Nash Elliot (290), Johan Kok (291), Jake Thompson (298) and Lee Taylor (300). Also representing USC were Matt Giffin (306), Matt Robinson (310) and Jason Huguet (313).
