Pellegrini completed her freshman season of cross country with personal bests of 19:26 in the 5K. She traveled to all meets and ended her season as the 10th Gamecock to cross the line at the SEC championship. She is looking to improve this season as a returning sophomore for the Gamecocks.

She has been apart of her high school's varsity winter and spring track team for 12 seasons and was captain for the last six seasons. She was a member of the varsity cross country team for five seasons and was captain her senior year.

Pellegrini qualified and competed in the cross country state championship in 2006 and 2008. In 2006 the team placed 3rd and she finished 37th. She raced at Penn Relays as a freshman on her school's 4x800m relay. She has made Cross Country first team All League in 2007 and 2009. She was awarded MVP for cross country in 2009 and Academic All County for the spring track 2011 season and the Scholar Athlete Award. Her best times are 19:45 for the 5k, 10:53 for the 3000m, 5:26 for the 1600m, and 2:27 for the 800m.

Pellegrini was a member of the National Honor Society, Anchor Club, Interact Club, Chem Club, and a cabinet member of her school's class government for the last 3 years. She graduated in the top 10 percent of her class. Daughter of Sallie Pellegrini, Sarah has found passion for running and dedication for her studies and is proud to be a Gamecock.
