McKissick Scholar

Mill walked on to the cross country team as a sophomore last year and dropped her previous 5K time from a 20:30 to an 18:44 during cross country before an illness ended her season in September. She continued to improve during the indoor track season, where she dropped her high school 1,600-meter PR of 5:16 to 4:54 at the SEC indoor Championships, placing 12th. Mill continued into the outdoor season and ran her best 1,500-meter run in a 4:34 and set a PR in the 3K with a 10:09.

Mill spent her summer in London interning with Account 3, a non profit that specialized in law. At South Carolina she is a Capstone Scholar Fellow and will be co-teaching a University 101 class as a Peer Leader. As a junior this year she has also been selected to be one of two captains and hopes to lead the team to its best cross country season yet.

In high school Mill earned 10 letters in both track and cross country and was captain of her team for two consecutive years. She graduated in the top five percent of her class and came to South Carolina as a McKissick Scholar.
