Manuel earned nine varsity letter awards in cross country and track. She was a two-time MVP, a three-time All-District and All-Region athlete in cross country and an All-State performer by placing fifteenth. She was also named to the third team of the Southeast with her personal best of 18:29 in cross country. In winter track she was a three-time All-District athlete and twice on the championship 4x800-meter relay team. At regionals she was an All-Region athlete twice, both times in the two mile, qualifying her for the state competition twice where she set a PR of 11:18 for the two mile. In outdoor track, Manuel was a three-time All-District athlete, a one-time All-Region athlete and state qualifier in the two mile, which is her favorite event in track.

Besides running, she participated in the National Art Honor Society and graduated as a distinguished honor graduate. She is one of two children, and her sister is a senior at Auburn University.
