During her Freshmen year as a Gamecock, Liz ran 18:23 (a new PR) for 5k and 22:48 for 6k. She was awarded SEC freshmen of the week and also got a team award for rookie of the year. As a freshmen Liz was in the team's top seven for the entire season and helped the team greatly.
During indoor track, she led off the SEC scoring DMR, with a PR of 3:36.0. she also ran well in the 800. During outdoor track she was hampered by shin splints. A solid summer of training should she her to PR's in the 17's this fall.
Liz entered her first year at South Carolina having come from Kingsway Regional High School where she competed in track and cross country. She earned two varsity letters in cross country and four varsity letters in track. In track Liz holds her high school record in the DMR, 4x800, mile, and 800. She entered with times of 2:12 (800) and 4:56 (1,600) and competed regularly as the New Jersey State Non- Public Championships with third place finishes in each event in 2010. Locke's times indicate that she could have a strong first season at South Carolina under Coach Rosenthal.
