2012 Cross Country Highlights

Kent attended Cathedral Catholic High School in San Diego, Calif., where she was a four-year varsity letter athlete in cross country and track and field. While in high school, Kent helped the Dons win two CIF San Diego Section Championships and two fourth place finishes at the state meet. Her cross country accolades include: 18:53 5K at Woodward Park, 18:36 on the infamous 2.95 mile Mt. SAC course and a 16:21 mark on the 2.75 mile Morley Field (Foot Locker) course. Some of her track and field accomplishments include: 11:17 mark in the 3,200-meter run at the Escondido Invite and 5:15 in the 1600-meter run at the Arcadia Invitational. During her senior year, Kent was captain of both the cross country and track teams. She also received the CIF San Diego Section Sportsmanship Award, Track and Field Coaches' Award, the Amanda Post Memorial Grant and the Natalie Nield Memorial Award and Scholarship. Kent was a member of the Union Tribune San Diego's All-Academic Team her junior and senior year. She graduated Cathedral Catholic High School in the top 10 percentile with Honors and a 4.15 GPA.
