Lauren saw significant improvement during her freshman season and is expected to challenge for one of the team's top spots this year. Before improving her 5k time by over a minute during the track season to 19:31, Lauren's cross country season best was 20.57 run during the defeat of archrival Clemson. A native of Charleston, Lauren received a Gatorade Will to Win award for cross country and track for the high school, the Summerville Green Waves. She was a member of back-to-back Region Championship teams and the 2003 South Carolina 4A State Champions. Lauren is the daughter of Tish and Jay Jaynes and was born on March 4th, 1986.
