She boasts eight All-District finishes and two All-Region finishes, including two district championships. She has competed twice at the state level and twice at the national level in the 2010 National Scholastic Indoor Championships and the 2010 Penn Relays Carnival. She served as captain of her cross country team in 2009 and 2010 and won the Leadership Award in both the indoor and outdoor track seasons for the 2011-2012 school year. She has also received the Most Valuable Freshman award and two Most Valuable Runner awards. Fouse graduated with honors from Langley High School as a member of the National Honor Society, Leadership Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and Quill and Scroll Honor Society. In 2009, she received the Award of Outstanding Interpretation for her written submission to the Fairfax County "Reflections" program. She also served for three years in her school's chapter of Best Buddies International, including two as a Peer Buddy and one as an officer. She plans to participate in South Carolina's chapter of Best Buddies, as she is passionate about aiding those with intellectual disabilities and ultimately hopes to become a special education teacher. Fouse has also participated in Red Cross Club, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, yearbook and varsity swim team. She has worked for two summers as a lifeguard and for three summers as a swim coach in a recreational league. In her free time, Fouse enjoys playing the piano, biking and spending time with her five younger siblings. |
