She has run anywhere from No. 5 to No. 10 on the varsity. She has also run the 800 and 1500 during track season, including being on an SEC DMR scoring team. During college, Erin received the SEC Community Service Award for 2010 and has been on the Dean's List every semester. Last year, Erin received an outstanding undergraduate award through the Marine Science Department and was selected as a 2010 NOAA Hollings Scholar. Through the program, Erin spent the summer in La Jolla, CA tagging sharks and completing a research project on bluefin tuna. As a Spanish minor, she also spent a month this summer studying abroad in Spain. In addition, last spring Erin was named a Udall Scholar and a USC Leadership Scholar, enabling her to help initiate the athletic department's first carbon-neutral athletic event. Erin is looking forward to her senior year and a strong cross country season. In high school, she earned all-state in track from her sophomore to senior year, running a PR of 2:15 in the 800. Erin was all-state in cross country as a junior (18:58). She was four-time academic all-state and four-time all-area. Erin was also the Wendy's Heisman State winner for Michigan. She was a member of the conference champion track team in 2008 and a member of the state qualifying equestrian team. |
