Kayli graduated from Marvin Ridge High School and was a captain for the cross country team her senior year. In high school, she was a three-time letter winner for cross country and four-time letter winner for both indoor and outdoor track and field. She was the 3200m regional champion her sophomore year and a member of her high school's two-time state champion 4x800 relay team. She was named Union County Cross Country Athlete of the Year her senior year.

As a member of the South Carolina Honors College, Kayli is excited to excel both academically and athletically. Her parents are John and Tracie Buckley.
