Gamecock Spotlight: Beatrice Biwott

Biwott has been the teams No. 1 runner the past three years. Coach Rosenthal expects her to lead the team once more. Her leadership by example will be a very important factor in leading the Gamecocks to continued improvement.

Biwott won two meets during the 2010 season, the Gamecock Invite and the Winthrop Invitational. During the 2011 track season, Beatrice set many new PR's. Indoors she ran 17:13 in New York City's Armory track. She also run 9:39 for the 3K at Texas A&M indoors. Outdoors the highlight was qualifying for the NCAA's for the third consecutive year. 2011 will be here best season yet. Her goals are to be top ten at the SEC and race for an NCAA qualifying spot during the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship.

Beatrice is a member of the PANASA (Pan-African Student Organization) at South Carolina. The organization empowers students on tackling issues affecting African communities.
