  • Started at libero in 26 matches, and played in all but three of the team's 106 sets on the year
  • Led the team with 349 digs, and her 3.39 digs per set average ranked ninth in the SEC
  • Almost doubled her career assist total, posting 84 assists to rank third on the team
  • Reached double-digit digs in 16 matches, with a season high of 21 coming against Georgia Southern (9/10) and Kentucky (10/2)

  • 2015 (JUNIOR)
  • Earned a shot at the starting libero position early in the season and commanded the role with a career year
  • Played in all 31 matches, and missed just five sets all season
  • Led the team with 328 digs (3.01 per set) and had three 20-dig matches
  • Committed just 16 reception errors in 481 chances for the season (.946)
  • Also a key server, finishing second on the team with 21 for the season (0.19 per set) and had seven multi-ace matches
  • Named to Furman's Carolina Classic All-Tournament Team after averaging 3.92 digs per set in three matches (9/4-5)
  • Recorded a career-high 23 digs and two service aces vs. Winthrop (9/5)
  • Stepped in as libero for the second and third sets against Auburn, finishing with 14 digs and earning the role for the rest of the season (10/9)
  • Set a new career high with five assists and added 16 digs in a three-set sweep of Ole Miss (11/1)
  • Popped up 16 digs and added two key aces in the team's five-set victory at Arkansas (11/25)

  • 2014 (SOPHOMORE)
  • Played in 28 matches, including 16 starts
  • Averaged 1.92 digs per set, which ranked third on the team
  • Recorded a career-high three service aces against Jacksonville (8/30)
  • Had eight digs and three assists vs. Georgia Tech (8/30)
  • Contributed 13 digs vs. Elon (9/13)
  • Tallied a career-high four assists to go along with seven digs vs. Eastern Kentucky (9/19)
  • Finished with nine digs, three assists and a pair of service aces vs. Ole Miss (9/26)
  • Recorded a career-high 17 digs vs. Alabama (11/9)
  • Matched career high with three service aces at Arkansas (11/14)
  • Tallied 12 digs against LSU (11/29)

  • 2013 (FRESHMAN)
  • Played in 17 matches, including two starts
  • Averaged 1.08 digs per set on the season
  • Recorded five digs in two sets played against Furman (9/7)
  • Played in all five sets against Winthrop (9/7), tallying a season-high 13 digs and three assists
  • Registered first career kill and added eight digs and two assists in win over Texas A&M (10/6)

  • Four-year letterwinner at Lugoff-Elgin High School for head coach Jessica Mullins
  • Served as team captain in 2010, 2011 and 2012
  • Garnered All-State honors as a junior
  • Earned All-Region honors as a junior and senior
  • Received the Team MVP Award in 2011
  • Named team's best defensive player in 2010 and 2012
  • Also lettered one year in softball for the Demons
  • Played for the Magnum Volleyball Club for coach Adam Speight
  • Helped lead Magnum to 2011 and 2013 Palmetto Region Championships, earning Palmetto Region All-Region honors both years
  • Was a standout in the classroom as well
  • Named Valedictorian of her graduating class
  • Was a member of the National Honors Society, National Society of High School Scholars, Beta Club and Quill and Scroll International Honorary Society for High School Journalists
  • Served as an officer for Fellowship of Christian Athletes

  • Megan Annette Kirkland is the daughter of Henry Kirkland Jr. and Regina Kirkland
  • Has one brother, Tyler
  • Major influence on her decision to play for South Carolina was the level of support the student-athletes receive, with one example being the state-of-the-art Dodie Anderson Academic Enrichment Center
