NCAA TEAM TOURNAMENT HISTORY

The Gamecocks have appeared in NCAAs 26 times in the event’s 35-year existence. USC’s best showing came in the first NCAA Championship in 1982 when it reached the quarterfinals after defeating Florida and 2009 after upending Washington. South Carolina has made a total of six Sweet 16 appearances with the last coming in 2009. Carolina has made the tournament field 22 consecutive times and gone to at least the second round 19 times in those 22 appearances. South Carolina’s 22 consecutive NCAA appearances is tied for the 11th longest active streak in the nation and the Gamecocks’ 26 NCAA appearances are the tied for the 13th most in the country.
