Columbia, S.C. - The University of South Carolina women's tennis team dropped to 25th in the most recent ITA poll on Tuesday. The Gamecocks, 10-6, had two players ranked nationally in singles, sophomores Christyn Lucas and Laura Ganzer.

Christyn Lucas, a sophomore from Miami, Fla., was ranked 94th in the country while teammate Laura Ganzer was ranked 110th. Lucas has an overall record of 18-13 and has won 10 of her last 14 matches. Lucas was ranked 111th in the country in the Fall 2004 Preseason rankings released on September 10, 2004.

Ganzer, a sophomore from Schwalbach, Germany, dropped from 91st in the country to 110th. She is 17-7 on the season in singles, with an 8-3 mark coming in dual matches.

The Gamecocks will host 43rd-ranked Mississippi on Friday and will then host their final match of the season against 22nd-ranked Mississippi State on Sunday. The match against Mississippi State will be Senior Day. Carolina will honor their three seniors before the match: Audrey George, Fallon Koon, and Magda Wojdylo.
