2011-12 (JUNIOR): Made an immediate impact on the Gamecocks' squad as a transfer ... Earned All-SEC Second Team honors and was named the team's Most Valuable Player ... Became the second Gamecock in a row to pick up the ITA Carolina Region Player to Watch after Anya Morgina took home the award in 2011 ... After beginning the fall unranked, Alawi opened the spring campaign rated No. 33 in the nation in singles, a career best, following an 11-2 fall record ... Remained nationally ranked the entire spring and finished the year 95th ... Held a national doubles ranking during the spring with Anya Morgina and Dijana Stojic ... Ranked as high as No. 37 in doubles with Stojic and No. 52 with Morgina ... End the season ranked No. 48 with Stojic ... Signature doubles win of the season was an 8-3 victory with Stojic against Allie Will and Sophie Oyen of Florida on April 14, who were the No. 1-ranked doubles team in the nation at the time ... 2010-11 (SOPHOMORE): Chosen for the All-Big West Second Team in doubles with partner Rachel Manasse ... The two went undefeated in Big West play and won a pair of matches in the Big West Tournament to help Long Beach State earn its eighth all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament ... Reached the semifinals in singles at the CSF Fall Intercollegiate in October after winning her first three contests ... Played the first six matches of the spring at No. 2 singles ... After losing her opening match to Alison Ramos of Southern California, Alawi won her next three matches and lost just five games in six sets ... Started off the dual season at No. 3 singles, going 4-1, then moved to No. 2, where she was 3-1, and finished the year at No. 1 singles with a 9-5 record at the position ... Defeated two ranked opponents in singles during the season ... Topped then-No. 70 Mary Weatherholt 7-5, 6-4 in a 5-2 win Nebraska and beat Cal Poly's then-No. 85 Susie Matzenauer 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 in a 5-2 win over the Mustangs ... Missing a partner for the first fall tournament, Alawi entered a unique partnership with St. Mary's Molly Aloia, as the two went 2-1 at the Cal Invitational ...
