Mission Viejo, Calif. - South Carolina diver Allison Brennan placed eighth in the finals of the three-meter springboard diving competition at the Speedo 2004 U.S. Outdoor Diving Championships at the Mission Viejo Aquatics Center on Saturday afternoon. Brennan finished with a score of 445.08 with Kimiko Soldeti taking first place with a finish at 515.04.

Brennan made history this past spring when she became the first national champion in USC swimming & diving history when she won the one-meter springboard competition in March at the 2004 NCAA Championships. Brennan will enter her senior year at Carolina in the 2004-05 season.

South Carolina men's diver Andy Bradley is scheduled to compete on Sunday, July 25 at Noon PT in the men's three-meter final. Bradley, who will also be a senior diver at USC next season, is currently third with a score of 538.11 with 2004 USA Olympian Troy Dumais leading the event at 659.73. Bradley has finished as national runner-up at the NCAA Championships on the one-meter springboard in both the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
