Beverly Smith Serving as Guest Analyst for SEC Now’s WCWS Coverage
May 31, 2017

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Gamecock head softball coach Beverly Smith joins the SEC Now team to help analyze the 2017 NCAA Division I Women’s College World Series field on June 1-3 from the SEC Network studio in Charlotte, N.C.

Smith, in her seventh year as the head coach at South Carolina, has sent her past five teams to the NCAA Tournament, finishing the 2017 season at 34-25. During the year, Smith’s Gamecocks played all three SEC teams that made the Women’s College World Series as well as the fourth team on that side of the bracket, No. 5 national seed UCLA. Smith will put her scouting of those four teams to use for the SEC Network’s studio coverage of this year’s games in Oklahoma City, Okla.

“I’m excited to sit at the SEC Now desk this weekend,” said Smith. “After playing these four teams this season, I feel I can share my insights with the SEC Network viewers.”

Smith coached a CoSIDA Academic All-American this season and an NFCA All-American in the last three years at South Carolina as well as two NCAA statistical champions during her tenure at South Carolina.
