Columbia, S.C. - The South Carolina women's soccer team (10-5-1, 3-3-1 SEC) enters final weekend of SEC competition before closing out the 2002 regular season with two non-conference matches next week. Carolina heads to Auburn on Friday evening at 8:30 p.m. ET and will conclude the trip on Sunday at 2 p.m. ET at Alabama.

South Carolina begins this weekend in third place in the SEC Eastern Division and looking to clinch a spot in the SEC Tournament in Oxford, Miss. (November 7-10). Carolina owns a 5-2 record on the road and with one victory will set a new single-season record for wins on the road by a USC team.

Friday evening's contest features the Gamecocks vs. the first place Auburn Tigers. Auburn is 5-1 against SEC competition and owns a 10-0 record at home. Carolina is 2-2-1 in the series with the Tigers, winning 1-0 in USC's last visit to Auburn in 1999. Auburn earned a 3-2 victory vs. South Carolina in Columbia in 2000. The Gamecocks are 2-1 in the school's series vs. Alabama, including a 3-1 win in Columbia in the last match between the two schools in the 2000 season.

South Carolina returns home next Tuesday at 7 p.m vs. Wofford in the team's final home match of the season. Carolina finishes the regular season on November 1 at 7 p.m. at UNC-Greensboro.
