Second Round Of Landfall Tradition Suspended|
Oct. 27, 2012
WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The second round of the Landfall Tradition has been suspended due to severe weather from hurricane Sandy entering the Wilmington area on Saturday.
The Gamecocks took the course in the rain on Saturday morning and played anywhere from eight to 11 holes before play was halted because of the weather. South Carolina is currently in 10th place at 26-over par.
"We have the opportunity to embrace these tough rainy and windy conditions," South Carolina head coach Kalen Harris said. "We can make up a lot of ground on the field."
Play is tentatively scheduled to resume at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, with the tournament being shortened to 36 holes.
