OPELIKA, ALA. - South Carolina senior women's golfer Adrienne Gautreaux is in a tie for 18th place after finishing with a 1-over-par, 73 in the first round of play at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship in Opelika, Ala. The 72-hole event is being contested at the par-72, 6,214-yard Grand National Lake Course.
Gautreaux is competing in the NCAA Championship for the third time in her career, but the first as an individual.
Gautreaux, a native of Mabank, Texas, began her opening round on the par-four tenth hole and carded a birdie on the par-five 12th hole, before finishing her outward nine with a 1-over-par 37. Following a bogey on the par-three third hole, Gautreaux bounced back with a birdie on the par-four sixth hole to finish her round at 1-over-par, 37-36-73.
