Equestrian Hosts No. 10 New Mexico State for Senior Day
March 18, 2011
COLUMBIA, S.C. - No. 6 South Carolina closes out its regular season on Saturday, when the Gamecocks host No. 10 New Mexico State at 10 a.m. Saturday's competition will be held at One Wood Farm in Blythewood and admission is free.
"Senior Day is always a special day for us, maybe more so this year than some of the others," South Carolina head coach Boo Major. "We have a small group this year, just four of them, and they have been tremendous members of this team. Not only are they all accomplished student-athletes, but Hailey, Chloe, Alex, and Abbey are also wonderful ambassadors for our program and University. They will definitely be missed."
Saturday's Senior Day ceremony will take place shortly before the 10 a.m. competition start time.
The Gamecocks are currently 5-8 but have a home record of 3-1 this season. New Mexico State is currently 4-6 this season.
"They've had some competitions similar to our's," Major said. "They've had some close losses, so this New Mexico State team is a point here and there away from being a top-5 team. They are a lot better than their record indicates."
South Carolina will provide Live Scoring for Saturday's competition. Fans can access the page via computer or their mobile devices by Clicking Here.
