Dawn Staley Basketball Camps

South Carolina women's basketball head coach Dawn Staley announced today the dates for her Summer 2013 basketball camps. The Dawn Staley Basketball Academy at the University of South Carolina will hold sessions to include Individual Day Camp, "Little Gamecock" Day Camp and Team Camp Shootout.

"We are looking forward to hosting our 2013 camps where campers have an opportunity to improve their game in a fun environment," Staley said. "We focus on executing proper fundamentals, sportsmanship, developing team spirit and self-esteem. It is our goal to create a memorable and productive experience for all campers."

The other three sessions are slated for late June. Individual Day Camp, which is $250 per camper ($225 for USC employees) kicks off the sessions, running June 17-20. Open to rising sixth-12th grade girls, the camp is designed to develop and teach basketball skills, emphasizing fundamental basketball and overall player development.

Staley welcomes her youngest group in for "Little Gamecocks" Day Camp, which is set to run June 24-26. The three-day camp is $75 per camper and is open to all rising first-fifth grade boys and girls. Each day will be broken up into shooting, defense, passing, ball handling and footwork lessons.

Team Camp Shootout is on the schedule for June 29-30 at a cost of $150 per team and $50 per player. Geared toward AAU, Junior Varsity and Varsity teams, the camp will categorize each team into divisions to provide the most competitive summer experience over the guaranteed four games.

Dawn Staley Basketball Academy camps are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and are open to any and all entrants who meet the advertised age or grade level requirements.
