Harris and U19 USA Team Strong in World Cup Group Play

UDINE, Italy – South Carolina guard Tyasha Harris and USA Basketball are 2-0 with one game remaining in group play at the FIBA U19 World Cup for Women in Udine and Cividale Del Friuli, Italy. The Americans opened the event with dominant wins over Mali (95-58) and China (91-51) over the weekend.

Harris came off the bench in both games, averaging 18.5 minutes at the event. She is second on the team with six assists and scored 4.5 points per game so far in the tournament.

Back in action Tue., July 25, against host Italy at 2:45 p.m. ET to wrap up group play, the U.S. is the only undefeated team in the Group A. Italy is second in the group with a 1-1 record through its first two games, matching China’s record in the group. With a win, the Americans will play the fourth-ranked team in Group B on Wednesday in the round of 16.
