On the team's progress through recent games
We're getting better. I think we're getting better from a defensive standpoint. I think we're settling into what we want from an offensive standpoint. We have glitches every now and then, but for the most part we see improvement almost every day.

On this being her best defensive team at South Carolina
I thought year one we were pretty good defensively. I don't know if it was just having a senior like [Demetress Adams] in the lineup. She used to make up for a lot of people's mistakes. I thought from early on, those players played the way we wanted them to play. There weren't very many times where [they] were undisciplined. I see this [year's] team [play] undisciplined. I do think that this team can be better. That's why we want more from them.

On La'Keisha Sutton's play
She's been playing great. She has been playing solid. She has been hitting her outside shots, she's been driving to the basket, she's been mixing things up. She has been playing at a good place where she's hard to guard.

On the difference in her approach to the last game and this game
I think I pretty much came out and did the same things I am used to doing. The last game I was not hitting [my shots] and I understood that and made the adjustment to get my teammates involved. This game, I was hitting shots, so I kept attacking.

On the team's satisfaction with winning five of its last six games
I don't think we can ever get complacent. It is a good feeling knowing we're going into conference play on Sunday on a winning streak.

We still have some things to improve on, but I think right now we're in a good place. We're just going to go up from here.

On the defensive effort the last few games
I think we've been having a lot of lulls. We've been pressuring them. We have to keep that up for 40 minutes. If we do it for 40 minutes, we'll be even better.
