South Carolina Head Coach Dawn Staley
On the overall game
"I wasn't really satisfied with our play. I am satisfied with the effort. I think the effort is getting better. I am satisfied with the win. But, you have to get better in certain areas if you want to beat teams like Stanford and all those top 10 teams in the country, because you have to stay with the game plan for almost the entire game.
On the injuries and the possibility of having a short bench against Stanford on Friday
"Hopefully the injuries will heal a little bit quicker. We should have two or three back to play Stanford.
On the offensive play of LaKeisha Sutton
"I was happy to see [Lakeisha] finally break loose and get to the basket and play with an aggression that I saw when I saw her play last year as a senior in high school. She's a freshman, so she is trying to find her way. Today I thought she just took it. She didn't think. She just played off her natural ability.
Demetress Adams Sr. Forward
On the exam break
"We got a chance to break down some plays and work on our fundamentals. It really helped us get our basics back together because we have a lot of tough games coming up in this stretch."
On working through the game with so many injured players
"We kept the same intensity. If we were down to four players in practice, we had to keep the same intensity. It's just strengthening our team and when those people come back, they are going to have to pick up that intensity that we have."
On how this game helped her prepare for Stanford's post players
LaKeisha Sutton Fr. Guard
On the exam break
"The post player tonight, number 21 [Chelsea McMillan], she did a really good job. Her talent may not be the magnitude of what we're going to face against Stanford, but it gave us post players a chance to get in that game situation and understand how we're going to play Stanford on Friday.
"The break helped me focus more on practice because we had time off. We broke down our plays more, and had more individual skill work. We got to rest our bodies after practice. I am glad we had the break."
On starting versus coming off the bench
"[I will do] Whatever helps the team. Coming off the bench or starting, I don't mind, whatever can help the team get the win.
