Men's Tennis Concludes Day One Competition At SEC Coaches Indoor Championships|

NEW ORLEANS, LA - The South Carolina men's tennis team concluded its opening day of competition at the SEC Coaches Indoor Championships in New Orleans on Friday, where sophomore Ivan Cressoni captured the his first victory of the season in Flight B of singles play, while the doubles team of sophomore Diego Cubas and senior Yevgeny Supeko also picked up their first win of the season to advance to Saturday's second round.
In the round of 32 for Flight A, all three of USC's participants were defeated. Sophomore No. 74 Pedro Campos was defeated by eighth-ranked Greg Ouellette of Florida in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5, while Cubas suffered a 6-4, 6-4 loss to Florida's Jeff Dadamo and Supeko also fell in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5 to No. 57 Alex Lacroix from Florida.
Cressoni picked up the lone South Carolina singles win of the day in his Flight B match against Florida's Daniel Cash, 6-3, 7-5. Senior Jaime Cuellar rallied from behind one set down to even his match against Jordie Kindevater of Alabama, but Kindevater prevailed (3-6, 6-4, 6-3), taking the third set 6-3. Also competing for the Gamecocks was freshman Johannes Pulsfort who fell to Georgia's Drake Bernstein, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5, while sophomore David Wolff also suffered a 6-2, 6-3 setback to Tennessee's Matt Brewer.
In doubles action, the team of Cubas and Supeko captured the lone Carolina victory. The duo defeated Bernstein and Varela of Georgia, 8-6.
