ATHLETICS

  • Went 17-13 overall in singles play, including an impressive 11-6 record in the fall
  • Advanced to the semifinals of the Ivy-Plus Invitational (Lenz Draw) and the ITA Carolina Regional Championships
  • Fell to teammate Yancy Dennis in the finals of the Georgia Tech Invitational (DII Draw)
  • Defeated the nation's No. 10 singles player Ronnie Schneider of North Carolina, his highest ranked victory of his career, in a three-set battle (Oct. 16)
  • Ranked as high as No. 92 in the Oracle/ITA Rankings this season
  • Played the majority of his matches in the No. 3 spot where he compiled a 3-4 dual-match record
  • Tallied a 14-5 record in doubles play, including a 5-1 dual-match record
  • Took home the doubles title at the Ivy-Plus Invitational (Pagoda Draw) with Andrew Schafer
  • Advanced to the semifinals of the Georgia Tech Invitational with Schafer with an 8-5 win over a pair from Vanderbilt
  • Defeated a pair from East Tennessee int he First Round of the NCAA Tournament with Paul Jubb

2015-16 (REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE)


ATHLETICS

  • Finished second on the team in singles wins with 28 while playing the majority of the dual-match season at No. 4 and No. 5
  • Compiled a 15-10 dual-match record to finish second on the team in dual-match wins while upping his SEC wins from one to four
  • Went 13-12 in doubles, including a 3-1 mark at the top of the lineup with Alex Fennell
  • Featured in the doubles rankings with two separate partners, at No. 32 with teammate Harrison O'Keefe to begin the fall and again with Alex Fennell at No. 69 midway through the spring
  • Clinched the team's win over No. 39 Georgia Tech (Jan. 30) with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 5 singles
  • Also clinched wins against Bryant (Feb. 7) and South Carolina State (Apr. 10) with commanding wins at the No. 4 and 5 spots, respectively
  • Clinched doubles points against No. 17 San Diego (Feb. 20), No. 50 Mississippi State (Mar. 6) and Murray State (Mar. 10)
  • Helped South Carolina close the season strong, earning singles wins in a pair of victories over top-20 Arkansas in the regular-season finale (Apr. 17) and the SEC Tournament (Apr. 21)
  • Put together a nine-match winning streak in the fall, capped off with the singles title at the South Carolina Men's Collegiate Championships
  • Went 13-4 in singles during the fall season, including a victory over the nation's No. 71 player at the ITA Regional

ATHLETICS

  • Played in the lower third of the singles lineup and anchored the No. 2 doubles position throughout the season
  • Shone brightest in doubles in his debut season, especially when paired with fellow freshman Harrison O'Keefe as the tandem climbed as high as No. 44 in the nation before O'Keefe's season-ending injury dropped them to No. 71 in the final rankings
  • Went 18-14 on the season in doubles, including a 12-7 dual-match record with O'Keefe
  • Clinched the team's win over SC State (Apr. 11) with a commanding win in the No. 6 singles spot
  • Picked up his first career SEC singles win to help the team past Kentucky (Mar. 12)
  • Shook off early nerves of SEC play to win four of next five doubles matches with O'Keefe
  • Posted a season-best ranked win over No. 19 tandem in the nation
  • Played in the top spot in the doubles lineup with O'Keefe as the Gamecocks clinched the doubles point against NC State (Feb. 8)
  • Won his dual-match singles debut against Furman (Jan. 17), clinching the match for the team
  • Burst onto the college doubles scene with O'Keefe, advancing to the final of the SEC Fall Classic, winning three matches in tiebreaks, including one over a ranked opponent, in their first collegiate event.

  • Rated a Blue Chip signee by Tennis Recruiting Network, ranked as high as No. 15 in the nation and was a fixture atop the Louisiana and Gulf States region standings
  • Posted a 33-13 record in junior events, including a 10-8 mark against other blue chip recruits and a 10-2 slate against five-star rated players
  • Reached the final of the USTA National Open in May 2013 and the semifinals of three other events in his final full year of junior play, including the 2012 USA National Winter Championships.
