Date Set For Men's Soccer Walk-On Tryouts|
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- The South Carolina men's soccer team and head coach Mark Berson invite all eligible students at the University of South Carolina to participate in the program's annual walk-on tryouts Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m.
Participants need to meet at the new Gamecock Soccer Complex, which is located at 115 Marion St. Cleats and shin guards will not be provided; you must bring your own. To try out, one must be a full-time undergraduate student (enrolled in at least12 credit hours) at the University of South Carolina on the Columbia campus and have a 2.0 cumulative grade-point average.
To participate, several forms (attached) must be filled out and interested parties will also need to have a doctor-signed physical and proof of a sickle-cell test in order to compete. The Student Health Center on campus provides the test. Please take all forms to Brainard Cooper at Founders Park (baseball stadium), weekdays between 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
The attached compliance form must be filled out and turned in to the Office of Compliance Services in the Rice Athletics Center, located at 1304 Heyward St. Do not wait until the last day to submit forms. All forms submitted on the 28th will not be accepted, and you will not be cleared to try out.
