2005 >>> Started all 21 matches in goal and earned Conference USA Freshman of the Year honors ... Named to the All-Conference USA second team and All-Freshman team ... Set a USC freshman record for saves, logging 88 stops ... Compiled a 1.19 goals-against average in 1,970:54 of action ... Posted four clean sheets, all against Conference USA competition, including two in the league tournament ... His four shutouts rank in top five for a South Carolina freshman ... Ranked second among C-USA goalkeepers with an 0.98 goals-against average and an .791 save percentage in league matches ... Came up big in the Gamecocks' Conference USA Tournament first round match against Kentucky --- After playing to a scoreless tie the match went to penalty kicks and Gustavson made a pair of saves to push the Gamecocks into the semifinals ... Set a season and career-high nine saves against North Carolina (Sept. 11) ... Won the team's Bill Lauritzen Award, given to the most outstanding defensive player ... Selected to Top Drawer Soccer's All-Freshman team ... Member of the United States Under-20 national team pool ... Traveled to Canada with the U.S. U-20 team in July, 2006 ... Also helped the Red, White and Blue to a second-place finish at the Milk Cup in Northern Ireland in August, 2006.
