Burnett, Tolleson Named to SEC Community Service Team

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina senior women's golfer Katie Burnett and junior men's golfer Clint Tolleson have been named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league announced on Friday.

Burnett, a native of Brunswick, Ga., spent time with children with chronic illness at Palmetto Health Hospital. She spoke with a middle school class at Muller Middle School career day about hard work, responsibility and time management skills needed to be a college student and athlete. She took part in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Green Initiatives Tree Planting in which student-athletes planted trees on campus. She also participated in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Burnett is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The second team All-SEC selection was South Carolina's female nominee for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and was recently named to the Capital One Academic All-District 4 At-Large Team.

Tolleson took time to visit with children with chronic illness at Palmetto Children's Hospital. The Spartanburg, S.C., native took part in the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and is heavily involved with his church as well as in local church activities. He is also involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Fairway Outreach. He is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll member and a SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll member.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams in all 20 sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight student-athletes from the SEC who give back to their communities in superior service efforts.
