South Carolina Gamecocks

For the first time since 1984 and for just the third time in school history, South Carolina has a consensus All-American. Senior defensive end Melvin Ingram earned that distinction, joining 1980 Heisman Trophy winner George Rogers and Gamecock Great Del Wilkes (1984).

But Ingram was not the only Gamecock to earn post-season accolades. In fact, 14 Carolina standouts were cited for their efforts during the 2011 campaign. This group, along with a cast of others, helped Carolina finish the regular season with a 10-2 record and a national top-10 ranking.
