Gamecocks Preparing for Bulldogs

The sixth-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks returned to the practice fields on Tuesday afternoon. The Gamecocks (1-0, 0-0 SEC) are preparing for Saturday's SEC Eastern Division showdown with the No. 11/12 Georgia Bulldogs (0-1, 0-0 SEC). Game time is set for 4:30 p.m. ET from Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga.
The Gamecocks have added five walk-ons to their roster this week. The quintet includes:
Andrew Bunch, a 5-11, 185-pound wide receiver from Mt. Pleasant, S.C. A 2012 graduate of Bishop England High School in Charleston, Bunch earned Division II-AA Player of the Year honors and set the school record for touchdowns. He was a member of the Presbyterian College football team a year ago but did not see any action. He will not be eligible this season and will have three years to play three beginning in 2014. He will wear number 21.
Grant Davitte, a 6-3, 190-pound quarterback from Columbia, S.C. who played for Bob Hanna at Irmo High School, graduating earlier this summer. A true freshman, he will wear number 13.
Cedrick Malone, a 6-0, 201-pound spur from Camden, S.C. A 2011 graduate of Camden High School, Malone spent the spring of 2012 as a walk-on member of the Coastal Carolina football team. He will wear number 57. He will not be eligible this fall and will have three years to play three beginning in 2014.
Mallie Sprouse, a 6-0, 195-pound punter from Bluffton, S.C. An all-region and all-state punter at Bluffton High School, Sprouse turned down a scholarship offer from Presbyterian to attend South Carolina. He will wear number 46.
Brandon Sturdivant, a 6-2, 212-pound fullback from Fort Mill, S.C. Sturdivant graduated from Nation Ford High School in 2012 and attended York Technical College during the past year. A redshirt freshman, Sturdivant will wear number 45.
The Gamecocks will return to the practice fields on Wednesday afternoon.
