The University of South Carolina football team began its final week of spring drills by working out in helmets and shoulder pads at the Bluff Road practice fields on Tuesday afternoon. It was the squad's 13th practice of the spring.

Head coach Steve Spurrier confirmed that starting tight end Rory "Busta" Anderson had surgery today on his triceps. "Dr. Jeff Guy felt like we needed to go ahead and repair a torn triceps," said the Head Ball Coach. "He could be back next year. We'll see how his physical condition is. He does have a redshirt year available if we need to do that. We'll try to do what's best for Busta and what's best for the team and go from there."

The squad will work out one more time, practicing under the lights at Williams-Brice Stadium on Thursday, before wrapping up the spring with the annual Garnet & Black Spring Game on Saturday, April 12. Game time is set for noon. The game can also be seen live on ESPNU with Joe Davis, Matt Stinchcomb and Maria Taylor serving as the announce crew.

"We're looking forward to Saturday. Hopefully we'll have a big crowd," said Coach Spurrier. "Free admission. We'll be honoring last year's seniors and honoring the women's basketball team - first-ever SEC Champions. Our equestrian girls cannot make it. I understand they are practicing. Practicing is more important than getting recognized in front of 40,000. Hopefully they are getting ready to go win a national championship.

"We'll let some of the older guys play a little bit," said the Head Ball Coach of Saturday's scrimmage. "Dylan (Thompson) will probably play at least a half. It should be a fun day here at Williams-Brice Stadium. We're looking forward to a good game. Hopefully nobody will get hurt."
