Football Season Celebration

Solid performer who will be a factor for the Gamecocks along the defensive line in 2012... listed as the backup behind senior Devin Taylor at a defensive end position entering the spring... has made one career start.

2011: Third-year defensive end who played in all 13 games... got the starting nod in the Kentucky contest... credited with 13 tackles including nine solo stops... had 3.5 tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry... notched three tackles against both Navy and the Citadel.

2010: Appeared in seven games as a reserve defensive end... had biggest moment of Carolina career when, on the last play of the first half vs. Troy, he intercepted a pass and returned it 56 yards for a touchdown to give Carolina a 56-7 lead... credited with five tackles on the season... made three stops in season-opener vs. Southern Miss including a 15-yard tackle for loss.

2009: True freshman who saw action in four contests before suffering a left hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for the rest of the season... did not record any statistics... granted a medical redshirt... enrolled in January and went through spring drills. was a member of the Fall SEC Academic Honor Roll.

2008: Spent the fall at Fork Union Military Academy... four-star prospect by both Rivals.com and Scout.com who was considered the 10th-best prep school prospect in the country... named to PrepStar's All-Atlantic Region squad. HIGH SCHOOL: Played on both sides of the ball at Jenkins High in Savannah, Ga., graduating in 2008... rushed 75 times for 830 yards and logged 85 tackles including six sacks as a junior... considered a four-star prospect... ranked as the No. 6 weakside defensive end in the nation by Rivals.com for the 2008 signing class and the 17th-best player in the state of Georgia... Scout.com ranked him as the 37th-best defensive end in the nation... originally signed with the Gamecocks in February of 2008.
