Gamecocks Lead Way with 74 Student-Athletes on SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll

Sophomore placekicker who gained some experience in 2012 handling the kickoff duties early in the season... competing with Nick St. Germain for the kickoff and placekicking duties as the Gamecocks look to replace Adam Yates... is the leader in the clubhouse entering the fall... has shown a strong leg, just needs to gain consistency... considered the "Most Improved" placekicker in the spring.

2012: Earned the duties as the kickoff specialist early in the season... also had a couple appearances when the Gamecocks attempted an onside kick... had three touchbacks among his 13 kickoffs.

2011: Walk-on who joined the team in the fall... was redshirted in his first season... named one of four outstanding walk-ons in at the 2012 Garnet & Black Spring Game.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from South Pointe High in Rock Hill, S.C. in 2011... played football for coach Bobby Carroll... earned all-area, all-region and all-state honors... turned down a scholarship from Newberry to walk-on at South Carolina.

PERSONAL: Landon E. Ard is majoring in sport and entertainment management.
