Gamecocks Open Spring Drills

First Practice Set for Tuesday

Redshirt freshman linebacker who looks for a strong spring to make an impression and work his way into playing time in the fall... will compete at the Will linebacker position in the spring.

2011: Redshirted as a true freshman.

HIGH SCHOOL: Mason Harris played mostly defensive end at Ridgeland High School in Rossville, Ga... coached by Mark Mariakis... recorded 119 tackles and 15 sacks as a senior, earning Class AAA all-state honors... tallied 68 tackles with 12 sacks and 14 tackles for loss as a junior for the Panthers... team went 9-2 during his junior campaign and was the Region 6-AAA champions... considered a three-star prospect, the 47th-best outside linebacker in the nation and the 58th-best player in the state of Georgia by Rivals.com... regarded as a three-star prospect by both Scout.com and 247Sports.com... named to PrepStar's All-Southeast Region class... also had offers from Miami (Fla.), Kentucky and Middle Tennessee State.
