Reverend Charles B. Jackson, Jr. is in his second season with the Gamecock football program, focusing on player development.

Jackson is a Columbia native who received an academic and athletic scholarship to attend South Carolina State University. He graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's degree in business management.

Jackson continued his education at the Morehouse School of Religion on the campus of the ITC in Atlanta. He graduated with honors in 2003, earning the Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Homiletics. Reverend Jackson is also clinically certified by Palmetto Health, having completed an extensive unit of Clinical Pastoral Education.

Jackson received his license to preach the Gospel in 2001 at the age of 21 and was officially ordained into the ministry on August 14, 2002. He is presently the pastor of the New Laurel Street Missionary Baptist Church. He is the Assistant Dean of the Gethsemane Baptist Congress of Christian Education, as well as Vice Chairman of the South Carolina Baptist Fellowship of the Progressive National Baptist Convention.

Jackson is married to the former Iva Gaymon of Manning, S.C., and is the father of three sons, Charles III ("Tre"), Caleb and Carter, and one daughter, Kayla. He currently serves the United Way of the Midlands as a member of its Board of Directors.
