Second-year player who missed much of the 2007 season due to injury... athletic player who played on both sides of the ball in high school... began his Carolina career in the defensive backfield but moved to wide receiver early in the 2007 season... saw limited playing time due to injury... converted back to the strong safety position in the spring of 2008... picked up the scheme quickly and showed good skills with the ball in the air... listed on the second team at strong safety behind Emanuel Cook entering fall drills.

2007: Began the fall camp in the Gamecock secondary but moved to wide receiver early in the season... played sparingly in three contests - South Carolina State, Mississippi State and Kentucky... caught two passes, both against South Carolina State, for 12 yards and a touchdown... his first career touchdown reception was a six-yard catch from Blake Mitchell... applied for a medical redshirt due to a shoulder injury.

HIGH SCHOOL: Local product who played both wide receiver and safety for Richland Northeast High School... caught eight passes, three for touchdowns, and had 86 tackles and four interceptions as a senior... played in the Shrine Bowl... earned second-team all-state honors from The State... as a junior, caught 25 passes for 545 yards and five TDs, had over 80 tackles and five interceptions... a four-star prospect by Rivals.com who was considered the ninth-best "athlete" in the nation and the sixth-best player in the state of South Carolina... rated the seventh-best "athlete" in the nation and the third-best player in the state of South Carolina by SuperPrep... ranked as the seventh best "athlete" in the country by PrepStar... is a four-star prospect and the nation's sixth-best safety according to Scout.com... runs a 4.45 40... chose Carolina over Louisville.
