Mike Holmes Named AgSouth Athlete of the Week

COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Sophomore forward Mike Holmes from the Gamecocks men's basketball team has been named AgSouth Athlete of the Week.

Holmes tallied 17 points, seven rebounds and a career high four blocks in South Carolina's 89-76 season-opening victory over Jacksonville State last Friday. In the Sunday matinee against Winthrop, Holmes tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds to collect his fifth career double-double and his first of the season.
