Men's Basketball Tours Terezin Concentration Camp
Aug. 8, 2008
Tour guide Radim Wajshajtl provided an in-depth look at the camp for South Carolina. For details on the camp, check out the photo gallery link above. Also, watch a message from coach Darrin Horn about the experience at Terezin and see Wajshajtl talk about one of the prison cells. In the third video, the Gamecocks' athletic trainer Mark Rodger provides some background information on six cells at the camp used at one time to house the six men involved in the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria on June 28, 1914, to ignite World War I.
After grabbing some lunch at the site and learning that a hamburger literally means a sandwich with a thick piece of ham on it instead of beef, the Gamecocks took the one-hour bus ride back to Prague to visit the most famous cathedral in Czech Republic, St. Vitus.
On Saturday morning, South Carolina will take a boat tour of the city and then play its first game of the tour later in the day. Keep checking GamecocksOnline.com for more updates, photos and videos.
