COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina men's basketball players are gearing up for the 2010-11 season spending their summer in the gym and in the classroom. GamecocksOnline.com sat down with incoming freshman RJ Slawson prior to study hall at The Dodie Anderson Academic Enrichment Center for a Q&A on his thoughts about Columbia, his favorite TV show and the upcoming basketball season. Q: You've been on campus for a few weeks, what are your impressions of the area?
A: It's very nice, and great facilities. The Dodie is very nice. I like the campus a lot so far.

Q: Which NBA player would you compare yourself to and why?
A: Kevin Durant because of his versatility.

Q: Who has been the most influential person on your basketball career?
A: My dad. He has always pushed me to become my best.

Q: What is playing on your iPod right now?
A: Drake

Q: What do you plan to study at South Carolina?
A: I'm still undecided. I was leaning towards sociology, but may switch that to sports management.

Q: What are three words your friends would use to describe you?
A: Tall, funny and athletic

Q: What is your favorite meal?
A: Spaghetti

Q: What is your favorite TV show, sport other than basketball and Gatorade flavor?
A: Boondocks, football and orange

Q: What is your favorite place you have ever visited?
A: Las Vegas

Q: Is there any story behind your uniform number?
A: I'm going to wear number 33 at South Carolina. My dad was 33 in high school (Summerville (SC) High School) and my uncle was 33 in college (The Citadel).

Q: For dessert, ice cream, cake or brownies?
A: Brownies

Q: If you could be on a TV game show, which one would it be?
A: The Price Is Right

Q: What would you say the best part of your game is?
A: My versatility

Q: What is something that most people probably don't know about you?
A: That I was the Gatorade South Carolina Boys Basketball Player Of The Year
