Saturday's game marks the second overtime game of the season for the Gamecocks. South Carolina lost an 82-80 decision at the College of Charleston on Nov. 28. The game is the first overtime game at Colonial Life Arena since a 61-56 loss to Mississippi State on Feb. 21, 2007. The last Gamecock overtime victory came against the University of Southern California on Nov. 16, 2006 (80-74). South Carolina assured itself of a .500 SEC season by collecting their eighth SEC victory. The eight wins are the first time Carolina earned eight conference victories since the 2003-04 season. South Carolina moves into a tie with Kentucky and Florida for first place in the SEC East with 8-4 records. The Gamecocks shot 20-for-26 (.769) from the free throw line, the second best percentage of the season. With Devan Downey, Zam Frederick, Mike Holmes and Evka Baniulis scoring double figures, it marks the fifth consecutive game that South Carolina has had four players score double-digits. Evka Baniulis matched his season high with four three-pointers, a feat he accomplished twice already this season. Mike Holmes tied his season high with three steals after also collecting three thefts against Clemson and Florida. The win is South Carolina's seventh straight home win, the first time Carolina has won seven straight at home since 2002-03. South Carolina collected 29 rebounds in the contest, the lowest total for the team this season. With Arkansas collecting 46 rebounds, the -17 differential is the largest rebounding deficit of the season for South Carolina. The Gamecocks tied a season high with eight blocked shots.
