Darren Kent begins his first season as a graduate student manager for the Gamecocks. Kent, a former letterwinner at Kansas State, served the same capacity for Frank Martin and the Wildcats during the 2011-12 campaign.

Kent's duties include assisting with game film, helping to gather scout information and aiding with the coordination of video exchange.

Kent earned four letters at Kansas State (2005-09) where he saw action in 96 games, averaging 4.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per contest. The Apple Valley, Minn., native was part of three postseason teams, including the 2006-07 squad that broke an eight-year postseason drought when it advanced to the NIT.

Kent played professionally in France following graduation from Kansas State. He earned a bachelor's degree in social science from KSU in 2009 and is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports management at South Carolina.
