Ian Gibson joins the men's basketball staff as the assistant strength coach for the 2011-12 season. A four-year letterwinner in men's basketball at the University of North Florida, he most recently served as a graduate assistant for VCU during their Final Four season of 2010-11.

Gibson played in 58 career games for North Florida, leading the team and ranking eighth in the Atlantic Sun with 1.6 steals per contest as a sophomore. He also earned A-Sun All-Academic honors during his career.

Gibson, a native of Miami, Fla., graduated from UNF in April of 2009 with a degree in criminal justice.
