Rallying from a 3-0 deficit, South Carolina goes on to win 12-4 and eliminate their biggest rival on the biggest stage.
The Gamecocks trailed SEC rival LSU into the 8th inning before putting up 3 runs to eliminate the Tigers from the Series 11-10.
The Gamecocks knock out LSU for the 2nd straight year, this time by the score of 15-4. The Gamecocks take the lead on a controversial play at the plate where Kevin Melillo is first called out on an illegal slide. The call is overturned and South Carolina never looks back.
The Gamecocks take out perennial power Miami 15-11 and then defeat eventual champion Cal State Fullerton 5-3.
