Recap |  Box Score

Head Coach Ray Tanner
On what he says to the players between innings in games like this one...
"I thought we swung the bats pretty well early although we were behind. They had the four spot and just kept scoring every single one. I said some days you have to win 10-9 or 8-7, let's just keep battling, we haven't done that a whole lot and maybe today's the day. Play with some heightened awareness and let's just keep plugging. It worked out, didn't look like it was going to. We kept battling and good things happened for us."

On first game of today...
"Baseball is a great game and some days it just completely humbles you and will devastate you and other times you just keep playing and get 27 outs and good things can happen. We get one hit in game one and we win. Matthews hit a ball the other way to lead off in the bottom of the eighth and very rarely does a ball go out that way unless there's a lot of wind. There wasn't any wind at the time but he crunched it pretty good and got it out of there and we win a game on one hit. We were staring a no hitter in the face and we end up winning the game, it's just crazy.

On second game of today...
"We swung it pretty good, they swung it, we finally got the lead with [Grayson] Greiner's homer, but they came right back. They settled in on the mound, their lefty got some big outs and we just kept hanging in there. Walker gets the hit and now we've got the tying run up there and it gets a little more interesting and we were able to come up with a couple of big hits there and win the game.

Adam Matthews
On two home runs today and is his slump broken...
"I hope so. It's been a frustrating year at times, but the only thing you can do is just continue to work though it. I was in the cage today just working on staying back and my weight shift was getting out over my front foot. That was one thing I was just telling myself to do today was stay back and let my hands work."

On the two games today...
`It was a crazy day all the way around. We couldn't have had two crazier games, I don't know if I've been around that. For myself, one of the side of my head off the wall out there and slip on a ball that's down the line that blew over [Christian] Walker's head, I missed that ball going back on the track. It's baseball and those things happen and I've got to be better than that out there and I know I'm better than that."

Sean Sullivan
On his at bat...
"I was just pretty much get something elevated for a sacrifice fly and at least tie the game. I really couldn't' have thrown that ball in there any better than that. I'll take it, a win is a win and I'm really happy right now."

Matt Price
On record appearances...
"I didn't even know I was close to the appearance record. I was kind of shocked, 89 games is kind of crazy. The fans, when I went out there, were just unbelievable and getting the save in the first game was big. I'm glad we won tonight."

Jordan Montgomery
On performance tonight...
"I missed my spot a couple of times on there and they were just hitting it where we weren't."
