On today's win:
"I was glad to see us swing the bats. We threw up two four-spots in the first and second today. Longwood is used to winning and they are well-coached. No disrespect to the opposition but when you are a top-10 program and you are playing at home, this is what you are supposed to do. I was encouraged by Forrest Beverly's performance. Number one, I thought he looked healthy out there. He threw the ball well. I was happy to see him get out of a jam early on."
"I thought (Wynn) Pelzer showed great poise out there. Then we went with (Josh) McDonald and (Craig) Thomas, and I thought (Jeff) Jeffords gave us life at the end. We are going to need those guys this year."
On his evaluation after three games:
"I'm happy with where we are. We've got to do some things a little bit better, but I am definitely not disappointed after this weekend."
